Man Arrested with Imitation Firearm

Hamilton Police have arrested a man after he entered a local bar and was seen in possession of a firearm. He fled the scene prior to police arrival but was later taken into police custody without incident and appeared in court today.  

On Sunday, February 3, 2019, shortly after 3:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received information a male had entered the Honest Lawyer Restaurant located at 110 King Street West and brandished a gun. Officers immediately flooded the area as a description of the male was broadcasted. A short time later a male matching the description was located in the area of James Street North and King William Street. He was arrested without incident and further investigation revealed the firearm was an imitation.

The male was held for a bail hearing and appeared in court on Monday, February 4, 2019, to answer to several criminal charges.
