Hamilton Man Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

A 56-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with possession of child pornography after police investigated his workplace electronic equipment.

In September of 2019, the Hamilton Police Service – Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) initiated an investigation after being contacted by the security department of a local business wishing to report one of their employees.

A search warrant was executed and a number of devices capable of storing digital media were seized. Investigators categorized the media files and found that the suspect was in possession of over 500 digital media files of child pornography.

The suspect was arrested on Monday, October 28, 2019, and was later released on a recognizance of bail.
