Mountain Carjacking While Pumping Gas

A Hamilton man has been charged with robbery after carjacking a vehicle at a local gas station.

On April 22, 2020, shortly after 11:00 p.m., two females stopped at a local gas station on Fennel Avenue East and Glenford Avenue in Hamilton. One of the females was outside filling up a jerry can when she observed an unknown male enter the front passenger seat of their vehicle and begin struggling with the driver.

The female outside tried opening the locked doors to assist while the driver continued to fight with the male inside as he attempted to put the car in drive. The driver was able to exit the vehicle safely. The male was last seen driving westbound on Fennell Avenue East in their vehicle. The two victims did not require any medical attention.

The male suspect was identified one hour later when police responded to a person pulling an apartment fire alarm in the area of Mohawk Road East and Moxley Drive. He was placed under arrest and charged with Robbery. He was held in custody with his bail opposed. The vehicle was also recovered at this location.

  • Fail to Comply with Probation
