Police Arrest Woman for Allegedly Selling Cannabis in Front of Closed Dispensary

A 20-year-old Hamilton woman will appear in court today after she was arrested for allegedly selling Cannabis in front of a former dispensary.

On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, shortly before 11:30 a.m., Hamilton Police received information from a concerned citizen about a couple selling Cannabis in front of the closed business, ‘Cannabis on Cannon’, located at 1108 Cannon Street East.

Upon arrival, police observed evidence in plain view that confirmed the sale of Cannabis. After confirming the involvement of a 20-year-old Hamilton woman, she was placed under arrest for violating the Cannabis Act. Through investigation, police located additional Cannabis, an undisclosed amount of Methamphetamine and Canadian currency believed to have been obtained from the sale of Cannabis. The items previously listed were seized as evidence

A search into the identity of the accused revealed an outstanding warrant for her arrest with an Ontario police service as well as several court-ordered releases with neighbouring police agencies.

The accused was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing. She is scheduled to appear in court later today.
