Police Charge Two for Drug Trafficking and Firearm

Hamilton Police continue to relentlessly pursue offenders who are engaged in violence, drug activity and guns in the Hamilton community. Police have arrested two in connection to drug trafficking in Hamilton this week.

On Friday March 3, 2023, shortly after 5:00 a.m., Hamilton Police executed one residential and two vehicle search warrants as part of an on-going investigation.

Members of the Major Drug Unit had been investigating a drug trafficking ring that was believed to be distributing fentanyl and cocaine throughout Hamilton. The investigation extended to areas all across South-Western Ontario.

Police have charged two individuals and seized a large quantity of suspected high concentrated fentanyl, cocaine, and currency. Police also located a firearm along with five extended high capacity magazines with ammunition. Finally, investigators seized a motor vehicle that was involved in the commission of the offence.

SEIZED:

  • Glock handgun with a fully loaded magazine
  • Dozens of rounds of 9mm ammunition
  • Five high capacity extended magazines loaded with ammunition
  • Four ounces of suspected high concentrated fentanyl that once prepared for street doses would have the ability to produce over two kilograms of fentanyl for distribution
  • Five ounces of crack cocaine
  • Mercedes motor vehicle
  • Bundled Canadian currency believed to be $35,000-$50,000 (still being processed)
  • Mobile devices
  • Scales
  • Drug production equipment
  • Cutting agents to add to drug production

The estimated street value of seized drugs is over $450,000.

  • CDSA 5(2) cocaine
  • Proceeds of crime over $5000
  • Three counts of Fail to comply probation
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order

  • 47-years-of-age
  • Grimsby
