Police Conclude Investigation into Suspicious Vehicle

The investigation into allegations of a suspicious vehicle in the Binbrook area has been concluded after detectives were unable to confirm the incident details.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, detectives from the Mountain Division Criminal Investigation Bureau started investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bradley Avenue and Magnificent Way. The information available at the time detailed an event where the driver of a white van stopped and instructed a teenage girl to get in. There was no physical contact and the girl did not comply, she ran away.

During the course of the investigation, an appeal was made to the public requesting area residents check their surveillance cameras and contact police to provide any information that could assist. The response was positive and police received numerous leads in the form of videos which did confirm the existence of a white van in the area at the time. As a result of reviewing the information gathered from video surveillance and witnesses, detectives are unable to confirm the events occurred as described to police.
