Police Continue Investigation into the Identity of ATM Robbery Suspect

Hamilton Police continue to investigate a robbery that occurred on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 and are looking to identify the suspect.

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, shortly before 1:30 p.m., a lone male suspect entered the CIBC located at 1882 King Street East, Hamilton and approached the victim from the rear while they were using the ATM. As the money was dispensed, the suspect demanded the victim turn over the funds.

The suspect obtained the cash and fled on foot to a white SUV parked in the branch parking lot. The vehicle was last observed travelling northbound on Rosedale Avenue towards Lawrence Road.

During the incident the suspect was in possession of an edged weapon believed to be a knife. 

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as male, white, 5'9-5'10, heavy build, thinning hair, blue medical mask, sunglasses, black t-shirt, white gloves and jeans.

Investigators are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this robbery.
