Police Continue to Investigate Overnight Assault

Hamilton Police continue to investigate an overnight assault in the area of Barton Street East and Strathearne Avenue.

On Thursday, August 8, 2019, shortly after 12:30 a.m., police attended a convenience store in the area of Barton Street East and Strathearne Avenue to assist Hamilton Paramedics with a call. Once on scene, the victim a 31-year-old male of no fixed address advised he was assaulted at a residence nearby. The male was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Officers attended the residence and confirmed an incident did occur at that location.

Detectives from the Division 20 Criminal Investigative Bureau attended the hospital and spoke with the victim. At this time he is not cooperating with police.

Police are unable to determine what caused the injury to the male or who is responsible.

Police are no longer on scene at the residence.
