Police Investigate Lockdown at Westmount Secondary School

This afternoon, Hamilton Police responded to reports of a student with a firearm at Westmount Secondary School.

On Monday, June 10, 2019, shortly after 12:30 p.m., Hamilton Police received information about a student in possession of a firearm at Westmount Secondary School, located at 39 Montcalm Drive. With the Lockdown protocol in effect, officers quickly responded and secured the area. During the investigation, police detained three male students and recovered a pellet gun.

The Lockdown was lifted at 1:05 p.m. and the school returned to its normal routine.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
