Police Seek Assistance with Robbery Investigation
Hamilton Police seek assistance from the public with a robbery investigation that occurred in Gage Park yesterday evening. The victim received a minor injury that required medical treatment. The suspect remains outstanding.
On Thursday, May 14, 2020, shortly before 7:00 p.m., a male was exercising in the North West corner of Gage Park, located at 1000 Main Street East. At that time, an unknown male approached and initiated a conversation. He requested the victim turn over property to him and when he did not get any, he assaulted the victim with an unknown weapon and fled the area.
Hamilton Police were contacted and immediately responded. The area was searched but met with negative results.
The victim was treated at the scene by Hamilton Paramedics for a non-life threatening injury to his upper body. He was later transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.
Detectives from the East End Station Criminal investigation Branch continue to investigate this incident and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time or has information about this incident to contact police.
Hamilton Police will be in the area today canvassing for potential witnesses.
