Proactive Policing Leads to Firearm Arrest

Hamilton Police take a firearm off the streets and continue the fight against gun violence.

On Monday, October 30, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Hamilton officers were patrolling the area of King Street East and East Avenue North in response to ongoing community complaints.

While patrolling the area, officers encountered an individual in an alleyway with conditions to stay out of the area. The individual attempted to flee on foot when approached by the officers, resulting in a brief struggle and subsequent arrest.

In a search incident to arrest, police located a loaded Glock 19 firearm, a box of 9mm ammunition, two pieces of crack cocaine, and a quantity of cash in the accused’s possession.

Hamilton Police have arrested  a 38-year-old man, Tim Junior Miller for the following charges;

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
  • Possession For The Purpose Of Trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under Five Thousand
  • Three Counts of Fail to Comply Undertaking

This is not the end. Hamilton Police will continue to engage with our community, police partners and share information in order to provide community safety. The citizens of Hamilton need to continue to feel safe in their communities and as a community we need to stop gun violence.
