Prowl by Night in Gibson Neighbourhood

Hamilton Police continue to remind the public to be vigilant about locking doors and securing windows after a male was caught looking through a window late in the evening.

On Saturday, September 28, 2019, shortly before 5:00 a.m., police responded to the area of Proctor Boulevard and Dunsmure Road, Hamilton. A female living in the residence noticed a male standing outside her window taking her picture. The victim and her roommate exited the home, located the male and were able to detain him until police arrived. The male was taken into police custody.

Later that day police executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a residence related to the male. Various electronics were seized and police are in the process of reviewing their contents. At this time it is believed additional victims may exist.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, the 26-year-old Hamilton man appeared in court to answer to charges of prowl near dwelling house and voyeurism.

Hamilton Police are encouraging residents to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.

Additionally, police are also reminding residents that doors and windows that are easily accessible should be locked and secured.
