Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Robbery Suspect

The Hamilton Police BEAR Unit continues to investigate two nighttime robberies that share the same suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

On Tuesday, December 24, 2019, shortly after 11:30 p.m., a male in disguise entered the Subway Restaurant located in the area of John Street South and Young Street, Hamilton. At the time, he was in possession of a yellow axe. The suspect was able to obtain property from the store along with an undisclosed amount of Canadian Currency prior to fleeing the scene. The on-duty staff was not injured during the incident.

On Saturday, December 28, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a male in disguise entered the Subway Restaurant located in the area of John Street South and Young Street, Hamilton. At the time, he was in possession of a yellow axe. Due to activation of an audible alarm, the suspect was unsuccessful in robbing the store and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, Hamilton Police now believe one suspect is responsible for the two incidents.

Hamilton Police Investigators are asking the public to review the images and contact Detective Constable Adam Krasulja at 905-546-8935 or Detective Sergeant Torrie at 905-546-2991 of the Hamilton Police BEAR Unit if they have any information that could assist with identifying the suspect or aiding in the investigation.
