School Altercation Leads to Arrests

Hamilton Police have charged a parent and student with a criminal offence after a schoolyard disturbance causes concern for safety.

On November 26, 2019, shortly before 1:00 p.m., police attended St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton for a disturbance in the back parking lot. When police arrived they located a large crowd along with a mother standing by her vehicle.

Police learned the mother attended the school holding an expandable baton during a verbal dispute with a student holding a knife.
