Search Warrant for Drug Trafficking Lead Police to a Local Business

Owner of the Taste of the Caribbean Restaurant on Kenilworth Avenue North has been charged with several drug offenses.

In early February 2018, the Gangs and Weapons unit initiated an investigation into the drug dealing activities involving a Hamilton man. On February 16, 2018, members of the Gang and Weapons unit observed a male exit a residence and enter a vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over and the occupant was arrested for drug related charges.

Police then continued with the investigation and executed search warrants at his residence on Bastille Street, Hamilton and his business on 208 Kenilworth Avenue North, Hamilton.

Police located a large quantity of illicit drugs with a street value of $20,000 and a large sum of Canadian currency inside the residence and business.

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone x 2
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Marijuana
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime – Under $5000
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime - Over $5000
