Single-Vehicle Collision Under Investigation

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate an overnight collision involving a motorcycle. The rider has succumbed to his injuries.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, shortly before midnight, police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Industrial Drive near Gage Avenue North, Hamilton.

A black 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling westbound on Industrial Drive at a high rate of speed when it exited the roadway and collided with a rock face located along the north side of the road.

The 25-year-old male rider from Hamilton was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. He was transported to the hospital where his death was pronounced.

A postmortem is scheduled for this morning.

Police have not ruled out any contributing factors to the collision.
