Speeding 139km in a 60km Zone

While conducting speed enforcement in lower Stoney Creek, police identified a motor vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was issued two court summons for stunt driving and speeding. The vehicle has been seized for seven days.

The Hamilton Police Service is committed to improving road safety by periodically conducting traffic enforcement blitzes and educating the community throughout the year.

On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, shortly after 10:30 a.m., police were conducting speed enforcement in the area of North Service Road and Lewis Road, Stoney Creek. At that time a black Mercedes Benz GLS SUV was observed travelling at a high rate of speed, eastbound on the North Service Road. Police were able to safely conduct a traffic stop. The driver was subsequently issued two court summons for stunt driving and speeding. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, to answer to the charges. The vehicle has been seized by police for seven days.
