Police are looking for witnesses or asking people to check their home security cameras for suspicious activity in the area of Celtic Drive Stoney Creek. Police are investigating a shooting that occurred. No reports of injuries.

On Thursday, January 16, 2020, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received reports of a shooting in the area of Celtic Drive and Carpenter Avenue in Stoney Creek. Residents in the area reported hearing what sounded like two gunshots.

Police checked the area and located two large calibre casings on the roadway. A bullet was also found lodged in the front door of a residence. At this time it appears the shooting was targeted. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect running south on Celtic Drive and then east on Carpenter Avenue.

This was confirmed by security camera footage.

Suspect Description:

• Slim build, younger, wearing dark clothing and a hoodie
