Suspended Driver Nabbed with Crystal Meth
Hamilton Police officers when not responding to calls for service routinely patrol the community in an effort to reassure public confidence and proactively identify and deter criminal activity.
On Thursday, October 25, 2018, shortly before 9:45 p.m., police observed a blue Ford Taurus, travelling northbound on Hess Street South approaching Main Street West, Hamilton. The vehicle proceeded to make a right turn on Main Street and then attempted to parallel park, partially in a live lane, just east of Hess. This unsafe action caused the officer to investigate the status of the vehicle and the driver.
Police learned the driver’s licence of the registered owner for the vehicle was currently under two suspensions. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was confirmed to be the registered owner. The driver was arrested and during the investigation, police identified he was in possession of crystal meth.
The driver was released on a Promise to Appear. He is scheduled for a court appearance on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, for possession of the drugs.
The driver was additionally issued a Court Summons. He is scheduled for a court appearance on November 26, 2018, for driving while under suspension.
