Teen Killed in Fail to Remain Collision

Hamilton Police have arrested a 15-year-old male after he struck and killed another 15-year-old male yesterday.

On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Upper Paradise Road in Hamilton.

Information was that a dark blue 2008 Dodge Caliber had struck a 15-year-old pedestrian. The collision occurred near the intersection of Upper Paradise Street at Kordun Street, just south of Stone Church Road.

A 15-year-old male was driving the Dodge vehicle northbound at a high rate of speed in the middle turn lane on Upper Paradise Road when he struck the 15-year-old male as he attempted to cross over Upper Paradise Road.  The pedestrian became airborne and struck a northbound stopped vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene and continued to enter oncoming traffic.

Citizens who witnessed this tragedy immediately came to the aid of the pedestrian until emergency personnel arrived. The male was transported to hospital however was pronounced deceased a short time later.

With the assistance of the public, the vehicle was quickly located and the driver identified and arrested. The accused remains in custody.
