Thanksgiving Day - Long Weekend Enforcement Program

Hamilton Police will be focusing their attention towards high-risk behaviours involving seat belts, impaired driving, distracted and aggressive driving from October 6 to October 8, 2018.

The “Thanksgiving Day Long Weekend” enforcement program incorporates high visibility of traffic enforcement in various areas of the city with strategic objectives towards public awareness and education is combined with the act of a professional traffic stop.

Resources will be directed towards identified areas of concern in each Division for the purpose of reducing or eliminating collisions and encouraging compliance with the basic rules of the road.

This Long-Weekend enforcement program will be viewed as part of the overall approach to traffic safety which supports the Hamilton Strategic Traffic Programs.

Violators who engage in high-risk driving behaviours threaten the safety of all motorists. Hamilton Police are asking you to drive safely.
