Three Arrested After Vehicle Collision and Foot Pursuit

Hamilton Police have arrested three individuals after a stolen vehicle was involved in a collision and multiple occupants fled the scene on foot.

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Garth Street near the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC) following a two-vehicle collision. After the collision, five male occupants of the involved black Honda Accord exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A witness claimed that one of the males was holding a handgun while running.

An off-duty Hamilton Police officer who witnessed the incident immediately intervened and successfully apprehended two of the fleeing individuals. The officer placed both under arrest as responding patrol officers arrived on scene. A can of bear spray was located in their possession.

A short time later, officers located and arrested a third suspect who was attempting to hide on a nearby property.

Police continue to search for the two outstanding suspects, and no firearm has been recovered.

The arrested individuals will go before the courts for the following charges:

  • A 19-year-old Hamilton man - Occupant of Motor Vehicle Without Consent
  • A 17-year-old Hamilton youth - Occupant of Motor Vehicle Without Consent, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • A 15-year-old Hamilton youth - Occupant of Motor Vehicle Without Consent, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
