Three Overnight Shootings in Hamilton's East End

The Hamilton Police Service is investigating three shooting incidents that occurred overnight from December 21, 2020 to early morning of December 22, 2020.

On Monday, December 21, 2020 just shortly after 11:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Roxborough Avenue and Reid Avenue after receiving reports of shots fired.

A 19-year old male was located nearby with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Police believe that this was a targeted incident and are asking residents in the area to check any video surveillance they may have that could assist police in their investigation. The scene has been released however the investigation is on-going.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, shortly before 1:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Third Road East and Ridge Road. Police received reports of multiple shots fired in the area. Police attended and located numerous shell casings on the roadway. Police are asking residents in the area to review their video surveillance. There have been no injured persons identified as a result of this incident. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, shortly after 4:30 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Queenston Road and Reid Avenue, after receiving reports of shots fired. Police secured the area and located evidence that included shell casings, confirming the discharging of a firearm.

Through continued investigation, police learned several rounds were fired towards a house, some of which struck the residence. The house was occupied at the time of the incident, however; no injuries were reported to police. At this time, police are investigating this as a targeted incident.

During the course of the day, officers will be in the area of the shootings canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance.

While investigators take into consideration the proximity of the shootings and the timeframe of which they occurred, Hamilton Police are investigating them separately at this time.
