Two Drivers Injured After a Serious Three Vehicle Collision

On Monday, January 9, 2023, shortly before 4:45 a.m., a southbound pickup truck on Centennial Parkway South crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with a northbound SUV.  The initial collision forced the SUV into a collision with a third vehicle, also an SUV.  The affected stretch of Centennial Parkway South was closed for several hours for investigation.

The 35-year-old male driver of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.  The driver of an SUV sustained minor injuries and a third was not injured.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in and has taken carriage of the investigation.

Investigation revealed that the pickup truck was stolen the previous day.  The driver of the pickup has been positively identified and faces criminal charges.  The investigation is ongoing. Impairment and speed have not been ruled out.
