Unknown Male Steals Purse from Elderly Female

Police are requesting public assistance after an elderly woman was robbed in her home. 

Around 2:00 p.m. on January 11, 2020, an elderly female living in an apartment building on King Street West and 2nd Street North in Stoney Creek answered her door to an unknown male. Upon opening the apartment door, the male pushed his way inside, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The male suspect then subsequently stole the victim’s black and white purse before fleeing the apartment on foot.

The victim was transported to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Suspect Description:

  • White, male, 5’4”, medium build
  • 35 to 45-years-old
  • Clean-shaven
  • large prescription glasses
  • wearing dark clothing and a small black toque

Police remind citizens to be cautious of suspicious people in and around their apartment complex and refrain from opening their apartment door to unknown individuals. Police feel this was a random incident and the victim was not targeted.
