UPDATE- Drivers Charged in Multi-vehicle Collision

Hamilton Police have concluded the investigation into a multi-vehicle and pedestrian collision that occurred in early December.

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, two motor vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection of Cannon Street East and James Street North. Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit have determined the actions of a 56-year-old Hamilton man who was operating a Hyundai SUV caused the collision. He is now facing charges under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.

The second vehicle, a GMC truck was operated by a 34-year-old Niagara Falls woman. She is also charged under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act as well as the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The owner of the truck, a 47-year-old Hamilton man is facing charges under the same acts.

The pedestrian, a 34-year-old Smithville woman remains in the hospital and continues to recover from injuries sustained as a result of the collision.
