Investigators from the Major Crime Unit continue to identify and interview persons who were present on July 28, 2021 when two men exchanged gun fire in the area of Barton Street East and Oak Avenue in Hamilton.

Investigators have obtained surveillance footage from various citizens and have used it, in conjunction with other techniques, to identify other persons present during the shooting incident.

Investigators continue to ask the public for assistance and are asking anyone with material information to come forward by either reporting to the Major Crime Unit or Crime Stoppers. Please note that any information provided through Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest could result in a cash reward.

We want those responsible for this senseless shooting to be held accountable.

Investigators believe this is a targeted shooting.

Hamilton Police are actively looking for a suspect and a suspect vehicle.
