UPDATE: Hamilton Police Arrest Suspect in Woodlands Park Stabbing

Hamilton Police have arrested a 62-year-old man for aggravated assault in the stabbing of a 37-year-old man in Woodlands Park in mid July.

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, shortly before 12:00 p.m. Hamilton Police responded to Woodlands Park after receiving information about a stabbing in the tented area of the park. Upon arrival, officers located a 37-year-old male victim without vital signs. The male was transported to hospital however is no longer in hospital.

Through the dedication and investigative work, officers were able to identify and arrest a suspect in connection with the attack.

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, shortly before 9:00 p.m. officers observed the suspect exit a vehicle in the area of Sanford Avenue North and Cannon Street East, officers quickly identified and arrested 62-year-old Mark Ribson for Aggravated Assault.

·         Remains in custody
