UPDATE: Male Arrested in Daylight Shooting

Hamilton Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in relation to yesterday’s daylight shooting.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2023 shortly before 1:00 p.m., Hamilton Police were called to the area of Sanford Avenue North and King Street East for a shooting that had just occurred.

Upon arrival police confirmed that a shooting incident took place and located two people suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to hospital and have since been released.

Investigators worked to gather information and arrested Wisler Sebastian Rosima shortly after 6:00 p.m. last night.

Investigators are not looking for any outstanding suspects at this time. Investigators confirm that this was a targeted incident.

The accused is facing the following charges:

·         Discharge Firearm with Intent

·         Two Counts of Aggravated Assault

·         Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·         Possession of a Firearm knowing Possession is Unauthorized

·         Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

·         Six Counts of Disobey Court Order

The accused appeared in court this morning and remains in custody.

We want to thank everyone in our community who came forward with information, those who were involved in local hold and secure measures and residents in the area. We as a community came together and this offender was taken off Hamilton streets within hours of this brazen daylight shooting.
