UPDATE: Police Still Looking to Speak to Witnesses

Investigators from the Major Crime Unit have continued to identify and interview persons who were present on July 19, 2020 when 19 year-old Ali Mohummad was stabbed to death after he and his friends were swarmed and ambushed by a mob in a plaza parking lot at Limeridge Road West and Kendale Ct.

Police obtained hundreds of hours of surveillance footage from various vantage points and have used it, in conjunction with other techniques, to identify other persons present during the incident. Investigators have either spoken to those identified or are in the process of tracking them down.

As part of the review, police are looking to speak to the male captured in the attached screen-shot as they believe he has material information to assist in the investigation. He is in his early 20s, black hair, full beard, wearing a grey and black t-shirt, dark pants and black shoes. This individual was in a position to directly observe the events as they occurred. He was seen leaving the area heading northbound across the parking lot of 11 Kendale Ct, hopping the fence and continued into the housing complex at 45 Montcalm Dr.

Police are asking this male, or anyone who knows his identity, to call them.
