UPDATE: Serious Motor Vehicle Collision Investigation

Hamilton Police continue to investigate a fail to remain collision that sent a 70-year-old man to hospital with life threatening injuries.

On Saturday, December 10, 2022, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Upper Wentworth Street and Elite Drive for a fail to remain motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Police have confirmed the involved vehicle, a Subaru was stolen from the area of Upper Sherman Avenue and Stone Church Road East prior to the collision.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in the theft of the vehicle and collision thereafter. The suspect was believed to have been dropped off in the area of Upper Sherman Avenue and Stone Church Road East by a dark coloured Ford pick-up truck, where they proceeded to steal the vehicle involved in the collision. 

We are asking residents and businesses in the area to review their security cameras between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. for any suspicious activity and also asking for anyone driving in the area at that time with dash cam footage to contact police.
