Ancaster Human Remains Identified

Police have concluded the human remains located in an Ancaster Industrial field is non-suspicious in nature.

On March 18, 2020, shortly before 5:00 p.m., the police were notified about the discovery of bones close to a hydro tower field off Cormorant Road in Ancaster. Hamilton Police cordoned the area off while they gathered evidence to send to the Centre of Forensic Sciences. Police received validation that the bones were human and conducted an investigation to confirm the identity

The evidentiary information located at the scene along with DNA analysis established the remains were that of a transient 40-year-old male from Hamilton. It is believed his body has been in the area for an indeterminate amount of time.
