A barricaded female has been safely taken into custody after nearly 12-hours of negotiations.

On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, shortly before 6:30 a.m., police received information about a female who was in distress at a residence in the area of Jackson Street West and Queen Street South. Hamilton Police along with Emergency Service partners responded to the residence as negotiations with the female continued.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. police entered the residence and apprehended a 34-year-old female without injury to anyone involved. She was transported to hospital for treatment. Hamilton Police would like to thank the community for their patience during this investigation.

The ultimate goal in situations such as this is to reach a resolution that causes no harm to anyone.
