Hamilton Police Continues Investigation into Monday’s Shooting in East End

Hamilton Police have identified a 15-year-old suspect involved in a shooting incident that occurred this past Monday in the area of Grimsby Avenue and Britannia Avenue, in the City’s East End. This daylight shooting occurred outside of a daycare with children present.

In response to the incident, the Shooting Response Team executed a search warrant at a local address in the East End. This led to the arrest of two adults, and an arrest warrant is now issued for a 15-year-old male youth. 

The charges against the youth include:

·        Careless Use of a Firearm

·        Discharge Firearm with Intent

·        Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·        Possession of a Prohibited Firearm

·        Reckless Discharge of a Firearm

·        Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Trevor Tyler Linklater, a 35-year-old male from Hamilton, has been charged with multiple drug trafficking and firearm offenses, including:

·        Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

·        Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Ten Counts of Possession Contrary to Order

·        Two Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation

He has been remanded to custody pending a future bail hearing.

Kayla Shawnte Duvall, a 31-year-old female from Hamilton, faces charges related to drug trafficking:

·        Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

·        Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

She has been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
