Cyclist Suffers Serious Injury in Collision with Motor Vehicle

Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigates after collision involving motor vehicle and cyclist, sends cyclist to hospital.

On Thursday, July 22, 2021, shortly before 2p.m., Emergency Services responded for a collision involving a cyclist and a motor vehicle at the intersection of Bay Street and Jackson Street in the City of Hamilton.

The cyclist was riding northbound on Bay Street in the bike lane. The vehicle driver, also northbound on Bay Street, had initially stopped for traffic before proceeding to make a left turn onto Jackson Street, in front of the bicycle. The cyclist collided with the vehicle as a result. The male was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the involved injuries the Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) has taken carriage of the investigation.
