Hamilton Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in helping to identify a male fatally struck in Ancaster overnight.

A 66-year-old male from Hamilton was walking in a dimly lit area on the roadway when a driver travelling westbound on Highway 2 collided with him. The driver of the van remained at the scene and a passerby stopped to render first aid until Paramedics arrived.

The victim’s next-of-kin has been notified. Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate. If you witnessed the collision, please call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753.
