Hamilton Police Investigate Street Robbery

Hamilton Police Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating a street robbery in the area of Herkimer Street and MacNab Street South. The victim attended a local hospital where he received medical treatment, he has since been released.

On Tuesday, April 16, 2019, shortly before 11:00 p.m., police responded to a reported robbery in the area of Herkimer Street and MacNab Street South. Through investigation police believe an altercation took place between the victim and a male suspect around 10;00 p.m. The suspect fled the scene heading in the direction of 234 MacNab Street South with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. As a result of the altercation, the victim received a non-life threatening injury and sought medical treatment on his own at a local hospital.

A search of the area resulted in police locating evidence including an imitation firearm.

Hamilton Police Detectives continue to investigate the incident in order to obtain a suspect description and additional details.

The victim has been released from the hospital.
