Homicide detectives have continued to investigate the brutal attack on a 46 year-old female near the intersection of Barton Street East and Emerald Avenue in the north end. At this time, the victim remains in critical condition and unconscious. The public have continued to assist the police with information since the incident occurred on Monday, June 27, in the early morning hours. 

Today, we are announcing that the suspect responsible for this senseless beating and sexual assault has been identified and was arrested last night at approximately 10:00 p.m. by detectives without incident. 

The accused, Gbenga Emmanuel Obajuluwa, a 24-year-old male from Hamilton. This male will appear in court later this morning and will be charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault. Once an information has been sworn to, his name can be released.
