Hamilton Police Make Arrest in Weekend Shooting

Hamilton Police have arrested a 22-year-old male of Hamilton for a shooting that sent a 18-year-old to hospital. 

On Sunday, October 23, 2022, shortly after 1:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a shooting in the area of George Street and Caroline Street.

Police can confirm several shots were fired inside a residence and police believe this incident to be targeted.

 The victim, an 18-year-old male sustained non-life-threatening injuries resulting from a gunshot.

Hamilton Police have arrested a 22-year-old male of Hamilton for the following charges;

  • Robbery with Firearm
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Fail to Comply Probation

The 22-year-old male is expected to be in court this afternoon. The investigation into this crime is ongoing.  

Hamilton Police are appealing to area residents to check their security cameras between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, for any suspicious activity and to contact police. Alternatively, if you were driving in the area and have dash camera footage that would be suitable for review please also contact investigators.
