Hamilton Police Seek Witnesses to Mountain Area Assault

The Hamilton Police Service is investigating an assault which occurred in the area of 555 Sanatorium Rd in Hamilton. Detectives believe a witness was present during the incident and are asking them to come forward.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Sanatorium Road and Rice Avenue after receiving a report of a road rage incident. The information provided described a physical altercation between a male who was walking on the sidewalk and another male who was operating a silver Dodge Caravan. Due to an unknown reason, the driver exited his vehicle and verbally confronted the pedestrian. The situation escalated, the driver assaulted the pedestrian and then fled the scene. The pedestrian, a 60-year-old Hamilton man, later attended a local medical facility to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

  • Short dark hair
  • Clean-shaven
  • Black a grey shirt with a stripe
  • Light coloured shorts

Detectives from the Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Bureau are investigating the incident. They believe a witness was in the area at the time of the incident and may have captured a photograph of the suspect and the license plate on his vehicle, prior to him fleeing the scene. They are appealing to that person or anyone else with information, to come forward.
