Hamilton Shooting Suspect Arrested in Toronto

Daniel McDermott, wanted in relation to an early morning shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, November 9, 2019, has been arrested.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, shortly before 8:00 p.m., Toronto Police Service officers responded to a Toronto east end address for a wanted party. Once at the residence, Daniel McDermott was identified as wanted with the Hamilton Police Service for a shooting incident in November 2019. He was arrested without incident and later turned over to the custody of the Hamilton Police Service.

McDermott appeared in court today to answer to the following charges:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Utter threats to cause death
  • Possession of weapons dangerous to the public
  • Fail to comply probation
