Looking to Identify Male Witness in Michael Campbell Homicide

Hamilton Police continues to seek witnesses in the Michael Campbell homicide and identify the male witness who was captured on video at Sheila’s Place Restaurant in Hamilton.

On August 8, 2018, Michael Campbell was killed and three other persons suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries after a shooting on East Avenue, just north of King Street in Central Hamilton.

As previously released, there was a dispute about two hours before the shooting inside Sheila’s Place on 457 King Street East, Hamilton. It is a possibility that the shooting was a result of an earlier dispute that occurred inside the bar, and that Michael was not the intended target.

Today, Hamilton Police Service is releasing a still image and a video of the male who caused this disturbance and committed an assault upon one of the patrons inside.

We are encouraging witnesses to come forward and to assist in identifying this male.

It is important to note that this male is not wanted for the murder of Michael Campbell. He is solely wanted for the assault in the bar and to potentially assist in identifying all of the individuals who had contact with Michael and the other victims in the hours leading up to the shooting in the early hours of August 8, 2018.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Homicide Detective Ross Johnson at (905)546-3827.
