Male Stabbed in Leg During a Struggle with Distraught Male

Hamilton Police responded to a stabbing in the area of Norfolk Avenue and Main Street West, Hamilton, shortly before 9:30 a.m. on October 15, 2018.

A lone male was walking westbound on Main Street West by Norfolk Street, Hamilton. The male bumped into two males walking eastbound on Main Street West. Words were exchanged between them and then they carried on.

A female walking behind the verbal altercation noticed the unknown male turn around and become fixated on her. The female was then chased into Main Street West traffic. She was able to get assistance from a driver who let the female in the car and locked the doors. After the male attempted to gain entry inside the locked car he left westbound on Main Street.

The unknown male now holding a knife assaulted and slashed a man in the leg who was walking east on Main Street. Two other males in the area witnessed the struggle and managed to subdue the man with the knife and hold him until Police arrived.

The injured victim was transported to the hospital with none life threatening injuries.
