Hamilton Police are investigating after a shooting incident in the city’s east end. 

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021 just shortly after 11:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Parkdale Street North and Barton Street East after receiving reports of a shooting.

A 25-year old woman was located nearby and had sustained injuries consistent with a gun shot wound. She was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives believe that this was a targeted incident and are asking residents and businesses in the area to check any video surveillance they may have that could assist police in their investigation. 

The public can expect a Police presence in the area for a good portion of the day as the investigation is still on-going.
