Passenger Fatally Injured in Two Vehicle Collision

Hamilton Police Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate a collision involving a fatality. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at 9:54 pm, two motor vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection of Airport Road and Nebo Road, Hamilton. A 2016 Honda Civic driven by a 19-year-old Hamilton man was travelling westbound on Airport Road approaching Nebo Road. At the same time, a 2011 Ford Escape driven by a 41-year-old Hamilton man was travelling northbound on Nebo Road when it was struck on its passenger side by the Honda.

Three of the four occupants in the Honda were transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. A 20-year-old female passenger in the Honda and from the Hamilton area suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The 41-year-old male driver of the Ford also from Hamilton was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police are not releasing any names at this time.

Due to the death of the Honda passenger, the Collision Reconstruction Unit responded and has now taken carriage of the investigation. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to call Detective Constable Jaimi Bannon at (905) 546-4753.

It is early in the investigation and police have not ruled out any contributing factors.
