Police Investigate Shooting in Hamilton's East End
Hamilton Police continue to investigate a shooting in the city's east end. One male victim has succumbed to his injuries. An update will be provided later this morning.
On Monday, March 2, 2020, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Hamilton Police Service responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Portofino Place in Stoney Creek. Once on scene, police located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Hamilton Paramedic Services provided medical attention to the male, but he succumbed to his injuries. Hamilton Police have secured the scene and a police presence remains in effect.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Major Crime and Forensics Units.
There is no suspect information available at this time.
Hamilton Police will be providing an update later today outside Police headquarters at 11:00 a.m.
