Police Investigate Stoney Creek Area Collision

Hamilton Police continue to investigate a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred in the area of Drakes Drive and Frances Avenue, Stoney Creek. Witnesses are asked to contact police.

On Monday, September 30, 2019, shortly after 1:30 p.m., a Nissan Altima being operated by 67-year-old Stoney Creek man was travelling eastbound on North Service Road when it made a left turn onto Drakes Drive. The vehicle turned into the oncoming lane and collided with a GMC Savanna van that was slowing for the stop sign at the intersection. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and come to rest close to Frances Avenue. Both drivers were transported to the hospital where the driver of the GMC van, a 57-year-old Hamilton man remains in stable condition with serious injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing and police have ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor in the collision.
