UPDATE - Motor Vehicle Collision Fatality

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the first traffic-related fatality of the year. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.

Shortly after 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019, Hamilton Police responded to a collision involving an 84 –year-old woman from Brantford and a Metrolinx Go Bus. At the time of the incident, the bus was reversing out of a bus slip at the rear of the terminal located at 36 Hunter Street East. The bus was being operated by a 60-year-old male employee.

Regrettably, the pedestrian has succumbed to the injuries incurred as a result of the collision.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have information and have yet to speak with investigators, to contact Collision Reconstruction Unit Detectives Jaimi Bannon or Ben Paterson at 905-546-4753.
