UPDATE- Hamilton Police Seek Witnesses to Robbery Incident

Hamilton Police continue to investigate a robbery in the area of St. Clair Avenue and Main Street East that left a woman hospitalized. Through investigation, police have learned the initial target for the robbery was the victim’s dog.

On Thursday, January 3, 2019, officers interviewed the victim. A suspect description has been obtained. The victim’s condition has upgraded and she continues to receive care.

The victim’s dog has been recovered and is safe.

SUSPECT

  • Male, Caucasian
  • 5’6” tall with brown hair and no facial hair
  • Thin build
  • 35-40-years-of-age
  • Black Coat 3/4 length similar to a Canada Goose or North Face coat.
  • White baseball cap
  • Running shoes

The suspect remains outstanding and as such Hamilton Police are reminding the public of the following safety tips.

  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times
  • Walk with a purpose
  • Avoid dark or isolated areas
  • Let someone know where you are going and when you are expected to return
