UPDATE: Hamilton Man Wanted for Mountain Break and Enters

Police have identified a 45-year-old Hamilton man as being responsible for two home break-ins in the Rexford Neighbourhood, where the male confronted the homeowners while armed with a knife. These incidents occurred in the early morning hours of November 18, 2019, and the occupants were not injured.

Through further investigation, police have linked this male to three other break-ins that occurred on the Hamilton Mountain, between November 14 and 18, 2019. In each of these incidents, no one was home at the time of the break-ins.

WANTED: Daniel Joseph Whalen (45-years) of Hamilton

CHARGES:

  • Break and Enter with Intent x 3
  • Robbery x 2
  • Break and Enter Commit x 2

Police are appealing to the public for any information as to WHALEN’s whereabouts. Police consider him armed and dangerous and are advising the public to call 911 immediately if seen and not to approach him.

Suspect Description:

  • White male, 45-years of age
  • 5'10" tall and 180lbs, medium build
  • Unshaven, hazel eyes, grey blond hair which is short on the sides and a ponytail on top
  • Heart tattoo on the back of his right hand
